Nutrition. Getting the right nutrients from the food that we eat is essential for us to survive. Without these nutrients, we would become malnourished and this can lead to health problems that would eventually result in death.

There are several main groups of nutrients that we need to consume every day and these are carbohydrates, protein, fats, fiber and vitamins and minerals. We also need to drink roughly 2 liters of fluid and water is the best choice. There is the potential for serious health problems to occur if we do not eat a diet that is nutritionally correct. For example, a diet that contains too much of certain types of fats could cause a person to put on weight. Excess weight is associated with health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and certain types of cancer. Changing this diet to include less fatty foods is the easiest way to lose weight.
